A Southern California native, Dr. Whitaker graduated from UCLA with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History. A career in public service fostered a passion for healthcare and healthcare policy. She ultimately decided to pursue a career in medicine, following in the footsteps of her father. She completed a post baccalaureate program in premedical studies from the University of California and went on to earn her degree in Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. During her studies, she also spearheaded student run community health clinics throughout Pomona for the underserved. She then completed her residency in Internal Medicine from Loma Linda University Medical Center. Dr. Whitaker is a Board Certified Internist and a member of the American College of Physicians.
